Susan B. Fontaine, 66, of Uxbridge passed away peacefully Thursday
February 9, 2023 surrounded by the love of her family at home.
Born in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Claire (Beauregard) Champeau. She was raised in Bellingham and was a graduate of Bellingham High School class of 1974. Over the years Susan lived in North Smithfield, Burrillville and Bellingham before residing in Uxbridge for the past 13 years.
Susan dedicated her life to being a caretaker. Susan worked as a CNA before being a stay at home mom. She was also employed as a teacher’s assistant at Next Generation Children’s Center in Franklin for many years.
Susan was a very loving and dedicated mother and grandmother with a deep compassion for children. She always enjoyed spending time with them and teaching them especially her grandchildren. They were her whole heart. She enjoyed crafts, cooking and baking. Susan loved to decorate her home for each and every season and holiday.
Susan’s legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to be part of her beautiful life.
Susan is survived by her daughter Becky Chartier and her husband Christopher of Uxbridge and her two grandchildren Ava Chartier and Ethan Chartier. She was the sister of Steve Champeau and his wife Deborah of Blackstone, Debra Kerivan of Uxbridge and Kathy Parenteau of Bellingham. She was the former wife of Donald E. Fontaine. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. She was the sister of the late Robert Champeau.
Her funeral will be Friday February 17, 2023 at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Agatha’s Church, Joffre St. Woonsocket. Susan will be laid to rest at Precious Blood Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday February 16th from 5-8 pm at Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
