Nancy Anne (Thompson) Kranendonk died Friday, January 27, at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester at the age of 83. She leaves her husband of 63 years, James Kranendonk; son, Michael Kranendonk and his wife Patricia of Columbia SC, daughter Sylvia Juron and her husband David of Charlton, MA and son Brian Kranendonk of Malta, NY. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren Steven, Stacey, Kyle and Alyssa.
Born in Rochester, NY, she was the daughter of Rodelle and Florence (Forte) Thompson. She was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas Thompson of Waynesboro, VA and William Thompson of Zephyrhills, FL.
Nancy was valedictorian of her class at Guilderland Center High School and was a member of the Tulip Queen’s court during the Albany, NY Tulip Festival in 1959. She worked in banking and mortgage services for many years.
Nancy had a deep love for God and her family. Her compassion for others manifested itself in acts of service and charity. She enjoyed many creative endeavors such as quilting, sewing and making handmade greeting cards. She was a whiz at Scrabble. She also enjoyed traveling, camping, sailing with her husband, Jim, singing in the church choir, playing the piano and the autoharp. She loved to cook delicious food for family and friends and to share her gift of hospitality with others.
There will be a one hour calling hour (at the church) on Thursday, February 16, from 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at Charlton Baptist Church, 50 Hammond Hill Rd., Charlton MA.
Burial will immediately follow in West Ridge Cemetery, Charlton with her husband.
