Susie Mae Giddens Ashley, 93, of Gainesville, Georgia, (Formerly of Ocilla) died Friday, June 2, 2006 at Willow Wood Nursing Center.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 4, at Bethlehem Cemetery in Irwin County, with Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. officiating.
Mrs. Ashley was born May 8, 1913, in Irwin County, Georgia to the late George and Susie Grantham Giddens. She was a feisty and determined woman. Mrs. Ashley was a retired shoe saleswoman. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Irwin County.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law: Carolyn Ashley of Gainesville; sister: Eunie Clifton of Thomasville; grandchildren: Dennis Ashley of Hahira and Donna Martin of Loganville; 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Ashley and son, Jimmy Ashley.
