Obituary

MASHANTUCKET: Jammal Emil Gant known as Bubba, Biggie and Foxwoods Prince was born on May 22, 1984 in Putnam, Connecticut to Sandra Butler and Levester Gant.

He graduated with his GED and continued his education at the New York Film Academy. After receiving his degree, he went on to obtain his dealers license at Foxwoods Resort and Casino where he was employed by his Mashantucket Pequot tribal family for several years. On June 12, 2014, he married the love of his life Emerita Gant. Jammal was a loving husband and father that made sure his wife, sons and family came first. He was the protector of his family and a friend you could always count on.

Jammal was bigger than life with an infectious laugh you could hear for miles. He was a bright light, spreading love everywhere. He was a blessing to many and always giving to those less fortunate. Jammal’s heart was pure gold.

Jammal was a true entrepreneur and delved into numerous avenues including TV production and a licensed barber. He loved living his life to the fullest, riding his motorcycles, surfing the mountains snowboarding, traveling the world, acting, telling jokes every chance he had, and living life lavishly.

He is survived by his Mother Sandra Butler, wife Emerita Gant, sons Julius Gant, Jandel Gant, Chris Ayala, Chason Ayala, sisters Lasheena Gant, Iesha Preston, Crystal Gant, Tonia Gant, Kamari Gant, Mary Chappell, brothers Gerron Gant, Lee Gant, and his many nieces and nephews.

Jammal was preceded in death by his Father Levester Gant, his Aunt Betty Scott, and his Uncle Ralph Butler.

A Celebration of his Life is scheduled for Wednesday, February 15, 2023. The Viewing hour will be at 10:00am with the Celebration beginning at 11am at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum located at 110 Pequot Trail, Ledyard, Connecticut. Burial will follow in the Mashantucket Pequot Burial Ground, Fanning Road, Mashantucket. The Repast to celebrate Jammal’s life will be at the Mashantucket Pequot Community Center at 2 Matt’s Path Mashantucket, Connecticut following the burial
