Robert P. Wirth, 67

Robert P. Wirth, age 67, of Mansfield, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the beloved husband of Debora R. (Rottingen) Wirth, to whom he was wed for nearly forty-three years.
Born in Quincy, MA on October 16, 1955, he was a loving son of Jacqueline V. (Hanson) Wirth of Cohasset and the late Robert H. Wirth.
Bob grew up in Norwell, Cape Elizabeth, Maine and Cohasset. He was a 1974 graduate of Cohasset High School and continued his education, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from Northeastern University.
Mr. Wirth was a Senior Technical Software Engineer at EMC division of Dell in Franklin, where he had worked for nearly twenty-five years. He was previously employed for eighteen years at the Northrop Corporation and formerly worked at the Foxboro Company and for Draper Labs in Cambridge.
Bob’s family was the essence of his life and he very much-loved times spent, and the memories created in New Hampshire, remodeling his cabin on Pine River Pond. He had the talents and ability to fix just about anything and a special place in his heart for the rescued animals in his life. He also enjoyed golfing with his best friend Pete, was a motorcycle enthusiast and will be fondly remembered for his gourmet cooking skills.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his devoted children: Nicholas J. Wirth and his wife Cynthia of Peabody, Alison R. Wirth of Stevens Point, Wisconsin and Kathryn P. Wirth and her significant other Michael Betts of Providence, Rhode island. He was the cherished and adoring grandfather of Kira A. Wirth. He was the dear brother of Stephen Wirth and his significant other Donna Casey of Hull and James Wirth and his wife Maureen of Petaluma, California. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.
Services and burial will be private and visiting hours are omitted.
