Leonard G. Cooper, 93

Leonard G. Cooper, age 93, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the VA Medical Center in Brockton. He was the beloved husband of the late Louise M. (Cipriani) Cooper, to whom he was wed for fifty-eight years at the time of her death on May 14, 2012.
Born in Boston, MA on July 27, 1929, he was a loving son of the late James and Elizabeth (Curran) Cooper.
Len grew up in Attleboro and was a 1947 graduate of Attleboro High School. During the time of the Korean War, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Following discharge from the service, Len continued his education to become a toolmaker. Prior to retiring, he was employed at the Foxboro Co., a career that spanned thirty years and retired with the position of a Toolroom Foreman.
Len’s family was his pride and joy, and he was ever so proud of his grandchildren. He was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and served as a former collector. Len was a passionate and avid golfer, a lifelong member of the Foxborough Country Club and a dedicated New England sports fan.
He is survived by his devoted children: Richard L. Cooper and his wife Jean of Mansfield and Marie M. Cooper and her longtime companion Paul Demusz of Stoughton. He was the cherished grandfather of Christina Sabatino and her husband Anthony, Elizabeth Cooper and her fiancé William Gargano, John Cooper and his fiancé Brianna Curro and the great grandfather of Cooper Sabatino, all of Mansfield. He was the dear brother of Donald Cooper of North Attleboro and the late John “Sid” Cooper, Helen Holt, James Cooper, Jean Mushnick, David Cooper and is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Friday, February 10th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial with military honors will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
