Charles H. Burton, “Chuck”, passed away from pulmonary complications on January 24th, 2023. He was surrounded by his wife of 48 years, Leigh and their grandchildren.
Chuck was born in Riverside, CA to Raymond and Elizabeth Burton. He graduated Riverside Polytechnic High School in 1965. He then attended Orange Coast College and later graduated from CSU Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science degree. He worked for Caltrans and Orange County Road Department before coming to Ventura to work for Ventura County Public Works, where he then spent 28 years in Flood Control and 9 years as an Assistant Road Maintenance Engineer.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Ray & Elizabeth Burton and daughter, Tanya Jenkins. He is survived by his wife Leigh, brother & sister in law; Ed & Robin Burton, Nieces; Sandy Bennett & Diane Burton, Grandchildren; Chantel & Hunter Duker, Jessica & Trevor Wright, Kimberly O’Neill & Chance Cribbs, Jordan O’Neill, Great-grandchildren; Hayden & Wesley Duker, and Ava & Nolan Wright.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Orchard Community Church, or a charity of your choice.
The family wishes to extend gratitude to the nurses, doctors and respiratory therapists at VCMC ICU 2 & 3 for their kindness and exceptional care of Chuck.
Celebration of Life will be held at Orchard Community Church, 8180 Telephone Rd., Ventura on February 25th, at 11am. Arrangements are under the direction of the Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ventura.
