BUXTON – Marilyn “Mouse” Chase, age 71, passed away on February 4, 2023, at her home, surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer.
She was born in Lewiston, Maine on December 9, 1951, the daughter of Justin and Wilma (Howes) Grindle. She grew up in Kennebunk Port and attended the Kennebunk school department. Throughout her adult life she was employed at Sylvania in Standish, Sebago INC in Westbrook, Dunkin Donuts in Westbrook and finally Walmart in Falmouth before she retired in 2018.
Marilyn enjoyed Spending time with family, her cat Miss Rosie, crossword puzzles, the casino, and playing cards with friends and there was a time she enjoyed fishing and hunting. She did make a couple of trips to Las Vegas where she had an amazing time and had dinner at Hell’s Kitchen.
She is predeceased by her love - William (Bill) Peirce, her father – Justin Grindle, her mother – Wilma (Howes) Grindle and a brother – Roy Grindle.
Marilyn is Survived by her daughters Stacey Austin of Standish and April Lemieux of Orrs Island, Sisters Marcia Cluff of Kennebunk, Sheila Judkins of Buxton, Mary Ally of California, and Brothers Alden (Buster) Grindle and Wife Donna of Kennebunk Port and Stacy Grindle of Yarmouth, five Grandchildren Dakota, Ember, Chelcey, Nathan, and Tyler and 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A service will be held on Tuesday February 21st at 6:00 pm at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton.
