Aloysius “Louie” S. Cuomo, age 87, passed away on February 2, 2023. He was born on April 20, 1935 in the Bronx, New York to Rosaria and Gennaro Cuomo. He is survived by his two children Christopher Cuomo (m. Marisa) and Maria Cuomo (m. Alexis) and three grandchildren Leila, Christopher, Jr., and Ciara. Aloysius was a graduate of Manhattan College and later owned Parkchester Auto Repair in the Bronx where he and Chris spent countless hours together. “Louie” loved being by the water; whether, it was sitting on the beach or fishing, he enjoyed taking Chris and Maria to Harbor Island most weekends. When he was home, he was usually seated at the head of the table telling stories of all the people he had come across at the shop or in his life; especially his parents, brothers and sister. Louie had a big appetite and was always ready to eat a big meal with his family. He loved watching Turner Classic Movies and listening to Motown. Louie is also survived by his sister, Teresa “MeMe” Brown, brother, Dr. Jerome Cuomo, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Joseph Cuomo. He lost his wife, Patricia Cuomo, less than six months ago and his family finds comfort in knowing they’re together. Donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
