Obituary

James “Jim” E. Bourne, age 57, of Brockton, died peacefully on January 30th, 2023, at Good Samaritan Medical Center surrounded by his closest loving family after a long period of failing health.

Jim’s memory lives on through his wife Janine Leeds Bourne, his loving parents Joanne ‘Welch” Woolford and George ”Butch” Woolford and Robert Bourne and Maureen Bourne, his sister Renee Bourne, his mother-in-law Dianne Leeds, his father-in-law the late William “Bill” Leeds, his sister-in-law Christine Jameson, his brother-in-law Byron Leeds, his beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, close loved cousins, dearest godchildren and cherished friends.

At a young age Jim moved with his family to Winter Springs, FL where he was a graduate of Lyman High School class of 1983. In 1995, Jim moved back to Brockton to work at the family business Bourne Transportation, founded by his grandfather, the late Basil L. Bourne.

Jim was an amazing soul, full of life and love. His smile would light up the room, his laughter filled the air. Jim truly touched the lives of everyone he met. He had the “gift of the gab” and could hold your attention for hours talking about absolutely nothing and everything. Jim’s cousin Jason describes him as a socially talented comedian that captured your attention. Jim was an avid gamer who touched the lives of so many fellow gamers, never having met them yet having an incredible impact on their lives. Jim’s greatest love was his family, godchildren and friends. His love for us all will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Jim will be honored with “A Celebration of Life.” Please consider making a donation in James’ name to The Genesis Foundation, 60 Temple Place, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02111 in lieu of flowers. For condolences visit www.conleyfuneralhome.com.
