Mary Frances (Benefiel) Newland, 97, of Anderson died February 2, 2023 at Community Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born December 31, 1925 in Anderson, the daughter of Harry and Sarah (Bronnenberg) Benefiel. She worked production at Delco Remy for 37 years before retiring in 1989. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, travel and her family and friends.
She is survived by her three children, Philip Newland and Teresa (Timothy) Klus all of Anderson and Cecelia Sue (James) Swails of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Todd (Angela) Swails, Scott Swails, Ian Newland and Trevor Newland; three great grandchildren, Kirby Swails, Rylie Swails and Madison Swails; cousin, James "Bucky" Benefiel of Anderson; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Forrest "Ben" Benefiel, James "Artie" Benefiel, Orpha Benefiel and Earl Benefiel; and two sons, Nick Thomas and Steve Newland.
There will be no service or visitation.
