Donna L. (Carter) Gardella, 63, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023 at home. She was the wife of the late Charles Gardella.
Donna was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Charles Carter, Jr. and the late Marion (Cornell) Carter and had resided in Little Compton for most of her life. She worked as a CNA, enjoyed helping the elderly and taking care of her Aunt Marjorie Simmons. She was an avid reader and loved animals.
Survivors include her 3 children: Angeline M. Gardella of Portsmouth, Matthew P. Ferreira of MA and Lillian R. Ferreira of VT; her sister: Dianne Matthews and her husband Douglas of Little Compton; her grandchild: Tesla Ferreira; uncle: Ronny Cornell of Little Compton; aunt: Janet Wilbur of Waquout, MA; niece: Rachael Matthews; cousin: Susan Lodge; along with many cousins and friends.
She was the mother of the late Benjamin Ferreira, sister of the late Douglas Carter.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, February 25, 2023 at First Baptist Old Stone Church, Tiverton at 2:00 P.M.
