Stephanie Ann (Smiley) Barry, 44 of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly after a period of declining health on Saturday, January 28, 2023. She was the beloved wife of William B. Barry, III.
Stephanie was born in Lowell on April 19, 1978, daughter to the late Larry Smiley and the late Shirley (Batcheller) Smiley Varounis. She was raised in Lowell where she attended area schools and graduated from Greater Lowell Voke Class of 1998. After high school, she earned a certificate in law from Mt Wachusett College and was currently studying for her bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Worcester State University, where she was actively involved in the Student Government Association.
Stephanie was kind, caring, and compassionate; she enjoyed spending time with her family; especially her husband William with whom she would have celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary this coming October. She enjoyed learning and furthering her educational goals. She was a member of the Granite United Church during their time located in Lowell, MA.
In addition to her husband, William B. Barry, III of Lowell, she is survived by her sons, Nicholas Dumont of Pepperell, MA and George Barry of Weymouth, MA.
On Thursday, February 2, 2023, all are welcome to attend the calling hours from 4-6 p.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 978-458-6816. Her funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 6 p.m.
