Hazel A. Eldredge, 89, of Derry, NH, died Saturday January 28, 2023 at her home in Derry. She was born on April 5, 1933 in Haverhill, MA, a daughter of the late William Chase, Sr. and Ruth (Smith) Chase. Hazel lived most of her life in Derry before moving to Florida. She recently returned to Derry and enjoyed spending her time with family and friends. She had a love for playing cards and wouldn't miss a game if she could help it. She would also spend her spare time working on puzzles and just enjoying life. Her kind soul was seen by many of the friends she made throughout her life. Hazel was employed at Consolidated Plastics in Hampstead, NH as a manager. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Florida.
Hazel is survived by her two sons Allen Eldredge and wife Frankie Lynn Eldredge of Derry, and Arthur Eldredge and his partner Rosie Owen of Derry; and her daughter Wanda Steffen and husband Leo Steffen of The Villages, Florida. She has four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; sister Elaine P. Chase Heinrich and spouse Wally Heinrich of Stuart, Florida; as well as her sister in law, Claire Chase of Derry. She was predeceased by brother, William A. Chase Jr.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 5th from 1:00-3:00 pm at Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry.
