Worcester: Edward "Skee" Storonsky, 77, passed away on January 29, 2023 in the Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center. His wife Nancy M. Nuzzolilo predeceased him in 2019. Edward is survived by his family: Mark and Heidi Nuzzolilo, Angela Nuzzolilo, Danny and Renata Storonsky, Lori Smith, and Dean Storonsky; his beloved grandchildren Justin and Sarah, Alexi and Alex, Lucas, Aidreanna, Nicholas and Benjamin. Two sisters Ingrid and Christine; and several nieces and nephews.
Skee, as he was affectionately known, was born in Ukraine, son of the late John and Ludmilla (Silzer) Storonskyj. Shortly after birth his family moved to Germany and then eventually settled in Philadelphia, PA. Skee proudly served in the US Air Force in Vietnam and later in life was an active member of the VFW Main South Post.
After leaving the Air Force, Skee lived in Anchorage Alaska for many years. It was there that he met Nancy, and ultimately moved all the way across the country to Worcester, MA to spend the rest of their lives together. Skee retired in 2010 from Central MA Mosquito Control where he worked as an operations manager.
After retirement Skee and Nancy enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their summer getaway at Bowdish Lake Camping Area. Many days you would find Skee sitting in the sunroom at Blue 75, drinking his Coke and chatting with all those that passed by.
Over the last year, Skee had an amazing group of caregivers; Mark, Erica and Susan, who all quickly became family. Their compassion and kindness for Skee is unmeasurable and will never be forgotten.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. In lieu of flowers, donations in Skee's memory may be made to Veterans Inc. For directions or to leave an online condolence message, please click link.
