Rosemarie Hodgkinson, age 88, of Medford passed away peacefully, Saturday morning, January 28, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald R. Hodgkinson. Born in Somerville she was one of eight children of the late William and Flora (Camerlengo) Petrillo.
Rosemarie was raised and educated in Cambridge where she was a graduate of Cambridge High and Latin School. For nearly ten years she served as Sister Mary Esther with the Franciscan Missionary Sisters, spending time in Africa, Poland and Ireland. She later worked for many years as an office administrator for Gould & Gould Real estate Attorneys of Cambridge. She also did volunteer work at the Children’s Hospital in Boston as well as volunteering and teaching CCD at St. Joseph Church in Medford, where she was very active and was a member of the church choir. Rosemarie will fondly be remembered for always willing to help those in need and her strong Catholic faith which brought her great comfort through the years. She will be greatly missed.
Rosemarie is the devoted mother of Donna Blasetti and her husband Joseph of Medford, and the late Jeanne Hodgkinson. She is the loving grandmother of Brittany Blasetti, Lauren Blasetti and the late Joseph Blasetti, Jr. Cherished sister of Joyce Webster of Somerville, Diane Neumann of Calais, ME, Michael Petrillo and David Petrillo both of Cambridge, Marian Petrillo of Medford, the late William Petrillo, Jr. and Thomas Petrillo. Further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 main St., Medford, Thursday, February 2nd, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home will be held on Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Rosemarie's memory to the Alzheimer's Assoc., 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452
