Janina (Swieszkowska) Cwalinska, 94, of Rutland MA, died peacefully at home surrounded by family.
She is predeceased by her husband Czeslaw Cwalinski, her daughter Wieslawa (Cwalinska) Rogowska and two brothers: Jan Swieszkowski and Edward Swieszkowski .
Janina is survived by her two children: Jan Cwalinski and his wife Irena of Worcester, MA and Miroslaw (Mark) Cwalinski and his wife Danuta of Rutland MA, Eight grandchildren: Agnieszka Serafin and her husband Krzysztof of Holden, Andrzej Rogowski and his wife Anna of Holden, Pawel Rogowski and his wife Olga of Lomza, Poland, Sylwia Urato and her husband Rick of Holden, Emil Cwalinski and Deborah Lee of Worcester, Michael Cwalinski and his wife Casey of Fairfield CA, Christopher Cwalinski and his wife Briana of Rutland, Dominika Cwalinski and Kevin Bean of Rutland, Ten great grandchildren: Sebastian, Krystian, Gabriela, David, Daniel, Alicja, Nina, Ava, Weston and Dimitri. She is also survived by two sisters: Halina Niedzwiecki of Old Orchard, ME and Zofia Sobocinski of Oxford.
Janina was very strong in her catholic faith, praying daily for her family and close ones. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Aside from praying, she filled her days with knitting. Many of family and friends still wear sweaters or socks knitted by her.
Janina was born in Borawskie, Poland a daughter of Franciszek and Anna (Staniurska) Swieszkowski. Janina immigrated to United States in 1980, she worked at Robinson Thread and retired from Worcester Manufacturing Inc.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Sreet., Worcester. The funeral will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023 with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
