MEREDITH ---- William Elmer Sears Jr., 86, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Golden View Healthcare Center in Meredith.
William was born on September 23, 1936, in Franklin, the son of William Elmer Sears Sr., and Alice (Downing) Sears.
He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, and traveling. William worked for the Town of Gilford in the Public Works Department for many years. He was a member of the Laconia Elks, American Legion Post 1, NRA, Good Sam’s Club, and the National Park Association. William served in the New Hampshire National Guard, 3/197th Field Artillery in Franklin for many years.
William is survived by his loving wife, Lulu (Roberts) Sears, his daughter Doreen Ann Sears, his sister Sara Sears Hanson, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, William is predeceased by his son Robert William Sears and his brother Robert Ripley.
There will be no calling hours.
Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 10:00am, at Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
