Obituary

Worcester - Shirley M. (Murray) Sauriol, 91, of Worcester passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2023 in the Christopher House surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with Dementia.

Shirley was predeceased by her first husband, Rene J. Sauriol Jr. who died in 1996 and her second husband, Armand Benard who died in 2015. She is survived by her three children Robert S. Sauriol and his wife, Micha of Worcester, Richard W. Sauriol and his wife, Geni of Goodyear, AZ and Thomas F. Sauriol and his wife, Tricia of Moultonboro, NH; a sister, Carol Marchand of Worcester; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester daughter of the late Roy and Myrtle (Elliott) Murray.

Shirley attended Worcester schools and performed multiple jobs including working in medical offices throughout her life. She loved to spend time with her family, especially watching and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren as they grew up. Shirley took great joy in knitting and made many gloves, hats and blankets for her family and friends. She enjoyed going to yard sales, sharing stories about the past and would always find time to watch the Red Sox.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 1, at 10:30 AM in Saint Peter’s Church 929 Main Street Worcester. Burial willow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer’s Association 309 Waverly Oaks Rd. Waltham, MA 02452.
