Ronald David James, 84, formerly of Anderson, IN passed away on January 22, 2023 after an extended illness in Leesburg, Florida.
He was born on May 6, 1938 in Anderson, IN to David James and Claris (Shawhan) Reed. He was a graduate of both Anderson High School and Ball State University.
He served in the US Navy, US Marine Corp. and was in the US Army 173rd Airborne during the Vietnam War.
He was a tool and die maker at Delco Remy for 54 years. He loved being a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and prayed the rosary every morning. He was a 4th degree “Sir Knight” member of Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincent De Paul Society. He loved watching Notre Dame Football and the Chicago Cubs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Yi Son (Im) James; his son, Erik James of Anderson and a daughter, Gena (husband, James) Isaacson and a grandson, Jackson Isaacson of Chicago, IL; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Fred James, Bob James, Karen Skinner, Martin James and Dick James.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:30 pm on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Father Tom Metzger officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation will be from 10:00am – 12:00pm on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent De Paul Society.
