Louise E. Roberts, 90, of Smithfield, Rhode Island peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
Louise was born in Seekonk, MA. Louise was the wife of the late Raymond Roberts. She leaves her daughters, Charlotte Smith and her husband, Everett, Diane Narcisi, and her late husband, David, Anne Roberts and Elizabeth Rettig and her husband, Deane and a son, Raymond Roberts and his wife, Celestina. She is survived by granddaughters Lisa Narcisi Stewart and her husband, Robert, Angelique Coia, and her husband, George, and Ariel Roberts and her great grandsons: David and Oliver Stewart.
She graduated from East Providence High School and began working at Paramount Greeting Cards in Central Falls, RI where she worked until she got married and had children. Louise stayed at home with her children for several years. During this time, she was the “scorer” for NEMA (North East Midget Association) where her husband was a midget race car driver. She returned to work at Paramount Greeting Cards and continued to work there for the next 40 years until she retired.
Louise, having grown up on a chicken/egg farm, was an active member of the Roger Williams-Rumford Grange from the time she was 15 years old and earlier this year received her 75 year membership pin. Over the years, she has enthusiastically held many positions in the grange including Lady Assistant Stewart, Flora, Secretary and Lecturer. She was voted “Granger of the Year,” several times. She is also active in the Chepachet, Moosup Valley and Pomona Grange as an Honorary Member. Louise would help at the Washington County Fair and the Big E fair in Massachusetts. Louise was truly dedicated to the grange and its activities.
Her Visitation will be held Monday, January 30th from 4-7 at the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Funeral services will be private. Please omit flowers.
