Irene H. Chouinard, 85, of Manchester NH passed away peacefully on January 23, 2023 at the Birches in Concord, after a period of failing health. Irene was born in Central Falls, RI. On August 23rd 1937 the daughter of Wilfred Hamel and Clara Goupille Hamel.
Irene graduated from Villa Augustina High School in Goffstown NH.
Irene met and married her one true love Arthur J. Chouinard Jr. and they enjoyed many happy years dancing, traveling, camping and enjoying the outdoors with friends and family while raising their two sons. Irene loved music, the company of family and friends and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Irene is survived by her sons; Wilfred Chouinard and his wife Janine of Weare, and James Chouinard of Manchester, her grandchildren: Derek Chouinard and his wife Caitlin of Weare, and Bryan and his wife Stephanie of Weare. She will also be deeply missed by her great grandchildren; Corbin, Addison Everleigh, and Callan as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Arthur who died in 2014, Irene is predeceased by her sister Florence Glaude.
A Calling hour will be held on Monday January 30th from 9:30 to 10:30 am at J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home at 110 Bridge St. in Manchester NH. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 am at St. Augustines church in Manchester and later proceed to the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen.
