WORCESTER___William L. Cantwell, 87, of Worcester passed away on Sunday January 22, 2023 in his home.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marianne H. (Wojtanek) Cantwell, a son, Robert Cantwell, Sr., and his wife Michelle of Worcester; a daughter, Lisa M. Cantwell of Lexington, Ky., four grandchildren, Monique, Melanie, Meghan and Robert Jr. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda M. Cantwell who passed away on July 21, 2022. William also leaves close nephews, Steven Walker and William Walker. He was also predeceased by two sisters and one brother. William was born in Leicester, a son of the late Charles and Mary (LaCroix) Cantwell and has lived in Worcester for most of his life.
Mr. Cantwell was a Police Officer 34 years for the City of Worcester. He served in the Traffic Division and was also a Motorcycle Officer. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
William had much pride, joy and love for his family and was proud of his Irish heritage. He loved his pets and all animals. The family wishes to thank the VNA nurses for the care given to William.
