Marie Concetta (Cuneo) DiLorenzo, age 100, of Medford, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 23rd. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Emma (Tomeo) Cuneo. Marie lived in Medford for 96 years and was employed for many years as an office manager. She loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed baking, travel, gardening and reading, and was a proud Italian-American.
Marie was the beloved wife of the late Carmen DiLorenzo, and the devoted mother of Caren Sarno and her husband, Andrew, of Medford, and Diane Garrity and her husband, James, of Wilmington. She was the loving grandmother of David and Ava Sarno and Lucas and Emma Garrity. Marie is also survived by her best friend of 95 years, Bette Cammarata of Stoneham, and many loving cousins.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, on Friday, January 27th at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford from 9:00-11:00 AM. Services will conclude with the burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Marie's memory to the Francesco P. and Dina D'Alto Malgeri Fund in Italian Culture at Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY 11794. The Malgeri Italian Culture Fund supports activities that reflect Italian culture, and Italian American contributions in literature and visual arts and the study of early Italian immigration to the United States.
