Mrs. Rose Marie (Leon) Kaufman, a longtime resident of Andover and beloved wife of Edward I. Kaufman, passed away at the Lawrence General Hospital on Sunday, January 22, 2023. She was 79 years old.
Born in Managua Nicaragua, she was the beloved daughter of the late Roberto and Leticia (Quant) Leon of China. Rose Mary was a graduate of University of Miami and was employed as an Industrial Engineer for CitiBank, For many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed raising Orchids and gardening around her home in Andover. She was a strong willed woman and was one of the first female Industrial Engineer's. She and her husband travelled extensively. She will be dearly missed.
Besides her beloved husband, Edward, she is survived by her loving son; Robert S. Kaufman of Andover and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Roberto, Simon, Elisa, Otillia and Lucy Leon.
Her funeral service will be celebrated in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at 10:30AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home, prior to service, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Interment will be held in the West Parish Garden Cemetery in Andover.
