Mrs. Jacqueline (Reavis) James, also known as Miss Jackie or Miss Taylor, a longtime resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Frederick James of New Britain, CT, passed away unexpectedly at the Akron General Hospital in Akron, Ohio on Thursday morning, January 19, 2023. She was 84 years old.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 10, 1938, she was the beloved daughter of the late Ralph J. Reavis, Sr. and Frances (Donaldson) Reavis. In her younger years, Jacqueline was employed by ARP Instruments in Boston, Teradyne, and as a Salesclerk for K-Mart in Connecticut where she lived with her late husband. After 10 years she transferred to K-Mart in Saugus and worked a total of 30 years for that company. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, and embroidery. She was also a member of the Whittier Street Sewing Club for many years. Jacqueline was always the life of the party, especially on the dance floor. If there’s music playing, she’s dancing. Jacqueline spent lots of time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, even chauffeuring some of them to and from school. If a grandchild just mentioned something they liked or needed, the next thing you know, she had it for them. And she always had a Christmas gift for everyone. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving children; Albert Taylor, Jr. (Sandra Taylor) of Malden, Justina M. Clayton (David Clayton, Sr.) of Medford, Ernest Taylor, Sr. (Christina Taylor) of Lynn, MA, James Taylor (Greta Taylor) of Lynnfield, Dwight Taylor (Melita Barnett) of Lynn, Derek Taylor (Robin Johnson) of Roslindale, Lawrence Taylor, Sr. of Boston and Irene Taylor (Harold Nash) of Roxbury, her siblings; Marie C. Jackson of Medford, Shirley A. Rice of Medford and Ralph J. Reavis, Jr. (Valerie Reavis) of New Jersey, 31 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
