Walter “Wally” K. Easttey, 69, of Rockland, passed away Saturday January 21, 2023. He was at home surrounded by his loving family, after a long illness.
“Wally” was born January 8, 1954 in Brockton, MA. He was a Master Electrician, and self-employed doing electrical contracting for many years. Walter is a graduate of Abington High School; Class of 1972; and after attended Plymouth State College.
In his limited free time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, regularly displaying his knowledge of all things music and grilling on the back deck. He also enjoyed fishing, attending live concerts, canoeing in his younger years, family vacations to Cape Cod and Southwest Harbor, ME, as well as attending years of sporting events for his children and grandchildren.
Walter grew up in Abington, MA, married and settled in Rockland, MA in 1977.
He was the loving husband to Norma (Wells) Easttey, which they shared 45 years of marriage.
Predeceased by Walter E. Easttey (father) and S. Frances (MacPhelamy) Easttey.
Walter is survived by his wife Norma (Wells) Easttey, 3 Children- Jillian K. Easttey (Gray, ME). Kristin M. (Easttey) & Jason Bergonzi (Abington, MA), Lauren F. Easttey (Rockland, MA); Beloved “Bampa” to Peyton and Wyatt Bergonzi (Abington, MA); Siblings- Terry (and Bill) Reynolds (Bridgewater, MA), Denise (and Paul) Whitty (Nashville, TN), and Thomas (and Michelle) Easttey (Myrtle Beach, SC); and Aunt, Sandra Carter, as well as cousins. Also survived by In-laws Robert E. (Jr.) and Barbara G. Wells (Dennis, MA), Sister-in-law Kim Wells (and Gary Morrissette) (Londonderry, NH), Brother-in-law Jonathan (and Sue) Wells (Carver, MA), and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family of Wally are invited to the Celebration of his Life on Saturday, June 17th from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM, at the Rockland Golf Course, 276 Plain Street, Rockland.
Wally’s Celebration is definitely casual/summer attire. Hope to see you there!
