Paola (Fodera) Vetrano, age 80, of Somerville passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19th surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Castellamare Del Golfo, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Rosalia (Sugamele) Fodera. After immigrating to the U.S., Paola was employed as a seamstress. She loved to sew and continued doing alterations long after retirement. Paola also enjoyed baking cookies and feeding her family and friends, as well as spending time in her garden.
Paola was the beloved wife of the late Carlo Vetrano, and the devoted mother of Antonia Vetrano, Antonio Vetrano and his wife Lori, the late Rosalia Zubricki and her surviving husband Zachary, Francesca Vetrano, Maria Carla Pahor and her husband Stefan, and Josie Vetrano-Sherman and her husband Patrick. She was the loving grandmother of Jessica Brennan and her husband Mark, Michael Coburn, Carlo Vetrano, Angelina Zubricki, William Zubricki, Francesca Zimmerman, Niko Pahor and Gaetano Pahor, and the adoring great grandmother of Robert and Damien Brennan. Paola was the dear sister of Rosaria Colomba and her late husband Giuseppe, Camillo Fodera and his late wife Rosalia, Francesca Vetrano and her late husband Antonino, Francesco Fodera and his wife Rosaria, the late Giuseppe Fodera and his late wife Maria, the late Maria DiDenedetto and her late husband Martino, and the late Ciro Fodera and his surviving wife Rosaria. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 25th from 4 through 7 PM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, January 26th at 11 AM in the funeral home, followed by entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
