Kevin B. Lampron Sr, "Kippy" (84), of South Boston, passed away on January 17, 2023.
Kevin was Born in Boston on March 5, 1938. He was the son of the late Charles M. Lampron and Sarah O’Donnell and the second youngest of 8 children.
He attended South Boston High School and in 1955, at the age of 17, he joined the United States Navy and served as a corpsman for the 3rd Tank Battalion, 3rd Marine Division out of San Francisco, CA. His tour of duty included deployment to Okinawa, the South Pacific and the East China and Philippine seas. He was forever proud of his service to our country and was discharged in 1959.
Kevin then joined the United States Post Office working at the General Mail Facility in downtown Boston. During this time, he pursued his passion for the medical field and attended Northeastern University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1979 and obtained his certification as a Registered Nurse. He then joined the nursing team at the Glenside/Arbour Hospital in Jamaica Plain where he specialized in working with patients with psychiatric disorders and substance abuse for the remainder of his career. He retired at age 73.
Kevin and Frances were married on November 12th, 1960. He lived in South Boston his entire life and together they raised a family of six children. He valued his wife and family above all else and worked tirelessly throughout his life to support and provide for them. He was always there for family and friends with his kind and gentle nature to selflessly provide love, friendship, guidance, and support where needed. He was the “World’s Greatest Dad” and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.
He was a devoted husband and loving father and is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Frances Lampron (Denn), his children, Kevin Lampron Jr and Linda Sivieri of Bridgewater MA., Wayne and Barbara Lampron of Mansfield MA., Karen and Shawn Keough of North Andover MA., Jean and (the late) Michael Billotte of Taunton MA., Scott and Maureen Lampron of Weymouth MA., and Russell Lampron of South Boston MA. He was the loving Grandfather of 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and he is survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
Kevin is predeceased by Charles Lampron, Jean McPherson, Walter Lampron, Maureen Stewart, Patricia Blackwood, Donald Lampron and Eugene Lampron.
Viewing will be held from 3 PM to 7 PM on Monday, January 23rd at the Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, South Boston.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, January 24th at St. Monica-St. Augustine Catholic Church, 331 Old Colony Ave., South Boston.
