On January 12, 2023, Mary Ann passed away at Riverview Manor, peacefully with her family by her side. Mary Ann was born in Colome, SD to Roy and Anna Delaney. Her family moved to the Boise, Idaho, area for most of her childhood where she graduated from St. Theresa’s Academy in 1950.
Soon after on a blind date she met the love of her life, Charles Lamb, and they were married September 25, 1950. Shortly after they started their family of 3 boys and 3 girls and headed to Washington to their farm in Finley, then to Union Gap and landing in Wapato to finish raising their kids. Their marriage lasted 49 happy years. Once her children were raised, her life became full with her devotion to her church, friends and organizations she belonged to including serving as an Associate of a Catholic Order of Nuns, Eucharistic minister and church choir for St. Peter’s Claver, Royal Neighbors, and Senior Citizen Group.
Mary Ann was an exceptionally creative person. She sewed clothing for her children, crocheted, knitted, needle point, oil and water painting, gardening, and canning of fruits and vegetables. She also loved cooking and baking which she shared her talents with her children. Her gift of hospitality is remembered by many and was often accompanied by her homemade treats. She loved traveling with Charlie and shared trips to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and throughout the United States.
By nature Mary Ann was reserved but when something tickled her, she would laugh infectiously and get the crowd laughing with her.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her dear husband Charlie, her oldest daughter Vicky Kelly, a sister and 3 brothers.
She is survived by her children Richard Lamb (Young), Las Vegas, NV, Charles Lamb, Cindy Pascua (John), George Lamb, Mary Dehnhoff (Mitch) Yakima area and her grandchildren Bridgett LaVigne, Patrick Kelly, Sherri McFarland, Jonathan Borden, Chelsea Lamb, Vincent Han and several great grandchildren, and several nieces and a nephew.
The last few years of her life were not ideal. She resided at Riverview Manor, an assisted living facility in Selah, Washington, and her freedom to move about was severely limited. But on the bright side her caretakers were all wonderful people who took very good care of our mother and showed genuine love for her. We would like to thank them all for making her final days as pleasant as possible.
A Service and celebration of life to be announced at a later date. Contact #509-945-4677. You may leave a message for the family at www.Prosserfuneralhome.com
