James A. Dockery, of Tewksbury, formerly of Malden, January 17th, 2023. Beloved husband of Joan E. Miron. Father of James T. Dockery and his wife A’ndrea of Peabody, Brian J. Dockery and his wife Theresa of Brooklyn, NY and Christopher M. Dockery and his wife Samantha of Middleton. Grandfather of Christopher Jr., Victoria, Josslyn, James, Charlotte and Emersyn. Brother of Thomas E. Dockery and his wife Georgiann of Colchester, VT, Stephen J. Dockery and his wife Julie of Chester, NH and Patricia Selfridge and her husband Robert of Auburn, NH. Son of the late James and Margaret “Ginny” Dockery. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. James was born and raised in Malden. He is a graduate of Immaculate Conception Grammar School in Malden and a graduate of Malden Catholic High School, Class of 1974. James owned and operated the James A. Dockery and Sons Construction Company for over 30 years. Later in life, he continued his education by earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Aided Design at Middlesex Community College. He assisted many companies with architectural designs. For many years, he volunteered his time at the Malden Emergency Center, serving as an EMT. An avid Boston Bruins and New England Patriots fan, James often hosted parties at his house during games. He was known for his love of cooking, especially when it involved cooking barbecue in his smoker, which he gladly shared with family, friends and neighbors attending the parties. He also enjoyed the company of his two dogs, Jackson and Jake. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Tuesday January 24th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 10 AM. Interment is private. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday January 23rd from 4-8 PM.
