In Taunton, Robert F. Bunker, age 87, passed away after a lengthy illness in Morton Hospital . Robert was born in Brockton, the son of the late Helen J. Bunker.
Robert was educated in Brockton schools and attended Northeastern University and University of MA where he obtained vocational teaching approval. He was employed and retired from Northeast Tech High School in Wakefield, MA. Robert served his country while in the U.S Air Force Strategic Air Command during the Korean War, from 1952-1956.
Robert was a member of several Veteran’s organizations including the American Legion, also a member of the MA Society of Mayflower Descendants. Robert also loved coaching hockey and was the past president of the Brockton Youth Hockey from 1979-1981. He enjoyed fishing, teaching and spending time with family and friends.
Robert is survived by his son, Stephen Andrew Bunker and his wife Teri L. of Taunton and the late Craig Michael Bunker of Brockton. He also leaves his grandchildren, Ryan Andrew and Sean William of Taunton and Craig Patrick of Lincoln, RI. and his great grand daughter Olivia Entwistle of Lincoln, RI. Brother of Rosemary Lalli and her husband Stephen C. Lalli of Marshfield. Uncle of Michael S. Lalli and his wife Rachael of Raynham and great uncle of Ace M. Lalli of Raynham.
Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Monday, January 23rd from 5-7 pm. A graveside service will be held at Pleasant St. Cemetery in Raynham on Tuesday at 11 am.
