Ferdinand S. “Fred” Pacione of Winchester MA died on January 14th 2023 after a long illness at the VA Memorial Hospital in Bedford, MA.
He was born August 10, 1939 in West Newton, MA and raised there until he attended and later graduated from Norwich University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. After graduation he was deployed to Germany where he served as tank officer and special aide to visiting NATO generals. He met the love of his life Mary while stationed in Germany and they returned to the U.S. and were married in 1966. After attending Suffolk University Law School he graduated with a J.D degree in 1969 and served nearly five years as an attorney with the IRS in Boston while he earned a Master’s Degree of Law in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. Fred entered private practice in Woburn in 1975 and later in Falmouth and Winchester, managing both law offices. In addition to his legal clients, Fred served his community for 12 years on the Winchester Zoning Board, half of which were as its chairman. He also served nine years for his beloved alma mater on the Norwich University Board of Fellows.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Mary (Denisevich) Pacione; his son Tony Pacione and his wife Mayte Pacione and their children Gabriel and Sienna, also his son Matt Pacione and his wife Stephanie and their children Rocco and Analisa. A daughter, Lisa Marie Pacione, preceded him in death. He also leaves behind a sister, Mary Pacione, and a brother, Joe Pacione.
A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester, on Friday, January 20, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend and are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
