Linea A. (Carlson) McQuay, 61, of Dartmouth died January 13, 2023 at home with family surrounded by love.
She was the proud wife of both the late Edward McQuay, to whom she was happily married 21 years and recent love, the late Ralph Peterson, Jr.
Born in Providence, daughter of the late Barbara A. (Maxwell) Carlson and George R. Carlson, she was raised in West Warwick and lived in Richmond, VA before moving to Dartmouth in 1993.
As a registered dietician and healthcare administrator, Linea has held many positions in long-term care facilities, most recently as the Regional Director of Operations at Bear Mountain Healthcare. A fiercely passionate worker, Linea was an empathetic, strong-willed leader who was admired by every patient, employee, and co-worker who had the privilege of knowing her.
Outside of work, Linea enjoyed baking delicious treats to share with friends and family. In the summers she spent time perfecting her garden and soaking in the sun at the beach. Much of her down-time was spent at home with her beloved fur-babies: Ellie and granddog Chloie. Above all, Linea valued spending time with her loved ones-capturing many of those memories through photos and scrapbooking over the years. She especially took pride in being a mother to her two daughters and never missed an opportunity to share her joy in their accomplishments, both big and small. Linea was a beautiful, compassionate, and hard-working woman with a heart of pure gold who will be deeply missed by many.
Survivors include her 2 daughters, Haylee McQuay and Saydee McQuay of Dartmouth; her brother, Raymond Carlson of West Warwick, RI; and several nieces and nephews.
Her visiting hours will be held on Saturday, January 21st from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 23rd at 12:30 PM in the funeral home followed by burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
