TEWKSBURY: Evelyn L. (McNeilly) Fraser, age 96, a resident of Tewksbury for over 65 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children at D’Youville Senior Care in Lowell on Friday, January 13, 2023.
She was the beloved wife of Everett A. Fraser, who passed away December 30, 1990.
Born in Somerville on June 17, 1926, she was the daughter of the late James McNeilly and the late Hannah (MacLeod) McNeilly and the sister of the late Mary MacDonald; John, Malcolm, Robert, James, Donald, Charles, Colena, and Colin McNeilly.
Evelyn was raised in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School in 1946. Following graduation, she attended the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene. Evelyn worked as a dental hygienist in the school system for the Town of Tewksbury for 15 years and in several private dental practices until her retirement in 1994. She was an active member and supporter of the Tewksbury Congregational Church and Ladies’ Aid Society, as well as the Tewksbury Senior Center, the Embroidery Club, and Red Hatters.
She enjoyed time with family, spending weekends at Baxter Lake in New Hampshire and Wells Beach in Maine, the fellowship of her church family, and attending the Tewksbury Senior Center day trips and community concerts. Her unending love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was apparent to all who knew her and a testament to her commitment to family. She was truly loved in return and will be dearly missed. Evelyn was a fierce, independent, witty (and a little sarcastic), beautiful woman who left this world a better place.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Susan M. Fraser-Perrotta (Raymond), of Cranston, RI; Sally A. Fraser Parker (Ronald), of Nashua, NH; and Roderick Fraser (Susan), of Pelham, NH; seven grandchildren, Joshua Perrotta (Meghan Cavanaugh) and Emily Perrotta (André Quina), Hayley Parker (Jared Studley) and Cameron Parker (Alice Pridgen), Shannon Ferrelli (Matthew Ferrelli), Justin Fraser (Olivia Fraser) and Brenna Geake: and eight great grandchildren, Molly, Maddie, Lucas, Ethan, Jackson, Ann, Bruce, and Dylan. She leaves many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
