Obituary

William H. Kelly, Jr., 60, of Westport died May 30, 2006 unexpectedly at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
He was the husband of Patricia A. (Ferreira) Kelly, with whom he shared 39 years of marriage.
Born in Fall River, the son of Leona (Lavoie) Kelly Martin of Westport, he lived in New Bedford and Westport most of his life.
He was a graduate of Bishop Stang High School, class of 1963, and a graduate of Concord College and Johnson & Wales University.
Mr. Kelly taught data processing in local high schools and Bristol Community College. In his retirement, he drove his fish truck to unload boats in the area.
He was an avid golfer at the Whaling City Golf Course and was active in youth sports. Mr. Kelly coached and managed local Little League, Pony and Teener League baseball and loved helping out Pee Wee football. Mr. Kelly loved helping out his grandchildren with sports and school.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War in communication as a special radio intelligence operator.
Survivors include his wife; his mother; 2 sons, Timothy Kelly and James Kelly, both of Dartmouth; a daughter, Kathryn (Kelly) Rezendes of New Bedford; a brother, Peter Martin of Middleboro; 11 grandchildren, Matthew, Meghan, Luke, Seth, Evan, Erin, Drew, Kelsey, Will, Lauren and Sarah; and a niece and several nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 2nd at 10 AM in St. George Church, 12 Highland Ave. Westport. Burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery will be private. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to any Youth Athletic Association of your choice.
