Marilyn "Cissy" (Suprey) Greatorex, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, January 13, 2023 at her home in Charlestown. She was 74 years of age.
Cissy was born in Chelsea on October 8, 1948, a daughter of the late retired Boston Police Officer Walter H. Suprey and Mary E. (McNeil) Suprey. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1966. Cissy worked as a lunch mother at Charlestown High School for 15 years. She enjoyed hanging up the Bunker and spending time at Hampton Beach with her grandchildren.
Cissy is the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Greatorex. She is the devoted mother of Boston Fire Department Lieutenant Jamsie Greatorex and his wife Janelle, and the late Eddie J. Greatorex. She is the loving Nana of Landyn, Ethan, Kamden, and Riann. She is the dear sister of Ellie Tallent, Maryann Remy, Billy Suprey, Paula Rose, Pattyann Suprey, Peggy Suprey, and the late Jeannie Doherty and retired Boston Police Officer Gerry Suprey. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Cissy's Funeral on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 11 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass at 12 Noon in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will be private. Her visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
