Renwick E. Gomez better known as “Franco” was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, and
brother was born on March 13, 1948, in Forest Reserve, Trinidad. He died on Friday, January 13 th at
Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts.
Renwick was an avid soccer player in Trinidad. He loved to both play and watch soccer. He loved jazz,
neo soul and R&B music, but especially jazz which he played all the time and drove his children crazy. He was a selfless person that was always there for his family and friends. He lived life to the fullest. He was
easy going, funny, and charismatic. You would often find Renwick kicking back with a Guinness in hand
reminiscing about the good old days in Trinidad He loved to drive from state to state. He loved taking
long trips with his family. Renwick was an avid collector of everything. There was nothing that he did not
have in his collection. Renwick was true believer in that one person’s trash was another person’s
treasurer.
Renwick was predeceased by his parents’, father, Edgar Gomez and mother, Emelda Gomez; brother,
Trevor Gomez; daughter, Edy Gomez; and grandson Deyquan R. Gomez. Renwick is survived by his wife,
Patricia Gomez of Roslindale, Massachusetts; son, Marlon Gomez of Boston, Massachusetts; daughters,
Rhonda Gomez of Norwood, and Margo Gomez of Roslindale, Brothers,
Earl Gomez and Irving Gomez of Brooklyn, New York; sisters Yvette Andrews and Jennifer Gomez of
Atlanta, Georgia; Irma Gomez and Euril Gomez of Trinidad; grandchildren Jacobie Gomez, George P.
Hinson, Treyvon Gomez, Kayla Lacey, Myia Gomez. Elise Wilmore and Ennis Wilmore; and great
grandchildren Alayah Lacy, Zachary Godwin, Amiyah Lacy-Godwin, Deyquan Gomez, and Aivy Gomez;
uncle of Darlene Gomez and Roxanne Gomez of Atlanta, Georgia and family of the Georges and a host of
other nieces, cousins, nephews and friends in the US and Trinidad.
Viewing hours will be on Monday January 23, 2023 from 11-1 PM followed by a Religious Service from 12-1 PM in the Joseph Russo Funeral Home,814 American Legion Highway, Roslindale, Ma, Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, 427 Cummins Highway, Roslindale, Ma
