FISKDALE/SPENCER: James W. Robator, Sr., 80 of 452 Main St., died Tuesday, Jan. 10th. in Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge after being stricken ill at his home on Sunday.
He leaves his wife of 61 years, Madeleine R. (Leveillee) Robator, his sons; James W. Robator, Jr. and his wife Corinne of Williamsburg, and Joseph W. Robator and his partner Emily Gorgone of Dudley, his daughters; Wendy A. Cassavant and her husband Duane of W.Brookfield and Darlene M. Robator of E.Brookfield, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his grandson; Justin Robator and sisters; Dorothy Chisholm and Elinor Gordon.
Jim was a longtime truck driver for Bemis & Hobbs Oil Co. and also Worcester City Delivery both in Spencer. He most recently managed Autumn Ridge Apartments in Fiskdale for the past 14 years.
He was born in Spencer, the son of the late Joseph W. and Beatrice L. (Barrett) Robator. He was an avid hunter and sportsman. If anyone needed anything fixed, they would call Jim. He was a "Jack of all trades". He was known to his family and friends as "Mr. Fix it". Throughout his life, he had many hobbies; snowmobiling, fishing, horseshoes, golf and hunting. But most of all taking care of his family!
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, Jan. 20th at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 22 West Main St., West Brookfield. Calling hours will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN. 38105 or st.jude.org/mygift.
