Vincent E. Faherty, age 74, passed away Jan 10, 2023 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Raised in South Boston and Brockton, Vin was a graduate of Brockton High School and Bentley College. He was one of nine children born to the late James and Margaret (Manning) Faherty. His sister, the late Margaret Stephanou, passed away one year ago. He leaves his brothers Jimmy, Mark and John Faherty and his sisters, Kathleen Speredelozzi, Mary Tarkanian, Dr. Ellen Faherty, Nora Rastetter and was “Uncle Vinny” to many nieces and nephews.
The epitome of a family man, Vin was married to his high school sweetheart Geri for 55 years. He was drafted just six months after their marriage and served in Korea for two years. He adored his two beautiful daughters Julie and Jennifer. He was proud of them and the love and care they provided through his difficult illness. He also cherished his one and only grandchild Anthony Sperrazza, who was like a son to him. Vin also loved his four-legged friend Teddy.
Vin was loved and admired for being a hard worker all his life and was endlessly devoted to his family. Vin and Geri enjoyed raising their girls and spending many vacations at their home in Sarasota, Florida. He was a lucky man to have a job he truly loved at Harpak Ulma Packaging. He had many close friendships with his colleagues over the years and thought the world of the Harlfinger family, Charlie, Linda and Heidi.
A special thank you all the wonderful people at Compassionate Care Hospice. Your kindness to the Faherty family was beyond expectations.
Vin will be missed and never forgotten.
