Diane H. Ellis, 62, of Franklin, MA passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2023 following a brief battle with breast cancer. She was the beloved wife of Mark S. Ellis for 44 years, who was her high school sweetheart and the love of her life. She was the cherished mother of Kristen Stefiuk and her husband Nicholas of Nashua, NH and Stephen Ellis and his wife Tasha of Bellingham, MA. She will be missed dearly by her beautiful grandchildren Ellison, Nikolai, Faye and Brad.
Born December 28, 1960 in Norwood, MA to her parents Fred and Phyllis Sherman, of Palm Coast, FL, who cherished their first born daughter. She is survived by her two siblings Patty Quattromini (sisters forever) and her husband Henry of Wake Forest, NC and Fred Sherman Jr. and his wife Shani of Palm Coast, FL. She was a wonderful sister-in-law to Peter, Debbie, Kevin and Tony.
She worked for many years at CVS Pharmacy in Franklin, but her favorite role was being a homemaker and taking care of her husband, kids and grandkids. Auntie Di was loved deeply by her many nieces and nephews, and her Goddaughter Heather. She will be missed by her neighbors who were more like family and of course by her many friends at the Franklin Elks.
Gaga was best described by her grandkids as effervescent, amazing, free and the BEST! She lived in the home she raised her family in for 37 years, where she made memories and friendships to last a lifetime. She loved her grandchildren, music, cruising, being with her family, playing Keno and drinking Coors Light with her son, her son-in-laws cooking, and being known as Lady Di. She enjoyed motorcycle and Corvette rides with her husband and learning about energy healing from her daughter. Diane was kind, warm, welcoming and a second mother to so many of her children's friends. She served as an honorary mother to her daughter-in-law Tasha, a best friend to many and will be missed by all. She was also known for her charitable work with her husband Mark, her love of hats and "bling," and finding us all treasures at her favorite yard sales.
A celebration of life will be held at the Franklin Elks on Saturday April 29, 2023 from 4-8 pm. All are welcome to attend. We will have a free spirit theme in honor of our free spirit Mama! Donations can be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in lieu of flowers.
The Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. is honored to assist the Ellis family.
