SPRINGFIELD – Nick Manolarakis, 61, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, was Called Home on Saturday, January 7, 2023. He passed into Eternal Life suddenly at UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. He was born in Meskla, Crete, Greece on October 5, 1961, the beloved son of the late Stylianos and Eleftheria (Anezakis) Manolarakis. He immigrated to Springfield with his parents in 1968, was educated in Springfield and had lived here most of his life. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 170 and was employed as a Tractor Trailer Operator with YRC Yellow Transport Company in Shrewsbury. During his leisure time, he enjoyed maintaining his lawn, going out to dinner with his children and watching a good movie or television show. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his loving wife and soul mate, Sheila M. (Sabadosa) Manolarakis. They were married on June 6, 1992 in Springfield and were blessed with over 30 years of happiness together. He also leaves his five loving sons, Niko Manolarakis and his wife, Heather, of Florida, Stephen Manolarakis and his partner, Lindsay, Anthony Manolarakis and Christopher Manolarakis, all of Springfield, and Joey Sabadosa of Ludlow; his cherished granddaughter, Lilian Manolarakis; and his dear extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved canine companion, his Rottweiler "Bella". His family will receive friends on Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
