Gwendolyn Isola Ricketts, 87, was called home to December 28, 2022. Gwendolyn Ricketts passed at Hancock Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Quincy, MA. She was lovingly known as Aunty, Gweny, sister Gwen, sister Ricketts and Ms Gwen.

Gwendolyn Ricketts was born March 28, 1935 to parents William Ricketts and Julian Williams. She was proceeded in death by her parents William Ricketts, Julian Williams and her siblings Chaplain Brown and Gloria Ricketts.

She was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica WI. Where she worked as a Telephone Operator and a Teacher in Jamaica. She migrated to the US in 1969 were she worked as a Nurses Aid. She later received her diploma in Home Study Program for the New England Telephone. She worked for AT&T until she retired in1997 as a Phone Operator.

Gwendolyn Ricketts lived her life as a christian in 1978 she received the certificate of Life Membership of the Woman Home and Foreign Missionary Society of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. She later became member of St Luke Christian AME Zion church were she was a devout member until she passed. She was a Deaconess, devoted prayer warrior, member of the choir, class leader.

Gwendolyn Ricketts is survived by daughter Patricia Ricketts, her grandsons Joshua Ricketts Johnson, Dashuan Johnson and her son-in-law Delroy Johnson. Her sister Ruth Bailey, her best friend Melrose Thompson, her godson Alijah Robinson, Devana aka Pebbles, nieces, nephews and village of family and friends.

THE VIEWING AND FUNERAL SERVICE will take place January 21, 2023 from 10am-12 at St Luke Christian Zion Church AME,1099 Blue Hill Avenue, Dorchester, MA 02124. Followed by the Burial at Oaklawn Cemetery and the Repass at Unity at 10 Dunbar, Dorchester, MA 02124.
