Arthur A. Nevola, of Hingham, formerly longtime resident of Lowell passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on January 8 after a hard fought battle with brain cancer. Arthur was born on September 13th, 1946 to the late Arthur and Carmella (Dimauro) Nevola. He was a graduate of Winchester High School and studied engineering at Northeastern, after obtaining his degree; he went on to work as a sanitary engineer on Deer Island.
Arthur’s true passion was in culinary arts where he excelled at cooking and baking. He spent many years cooking for the retired priests and nuns at Regina Cleary in Boston. No occasion was complete without his famous cookies and brownies. He also loved traveling, photography, working on computers, and of course shopping with his coupons. He spent his last year at the Residence of Penniman Hill where he formed many wonderful friendships and became the president of the Resident Council. He loved talking to people and making people laugh even if at times it was with an inappropriate sense of humor.
Arthur was the beloved husband of the late Susan Nevola and loving companion to Marie Bova. He was the father of Heather Chisholm and her husband Jeff of Hingham, Bobby Nevola and his wife Jodi of Burlington, Tracey Profio and her husband Steve of Tyngsboro, Michele Nevola of Burlington, and the late Arthur Nevola. He was the loving Gramps to Colin, Riley, Christopher, Bobby, Holly, Joseph, Madison, and Abigail. He was the dear brother to Millie Cardone and her husband Tony of Medford, Ron Nevola and his wife Nancy of Winchester, and the late Marie Nevola. He was the dear uncle to Laura, Camille, Christine, and Margaux, and grand uncle to Ayden and Nathan.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford Friday, January 13th at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 to 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Saint Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
