Ruth Jacob, 95, of Mystic died Sunday, January 8, 2023 at home with her family by her side. She is predeceased by her husband, Wilson Avis Jacob who died in 1993.
She was born in Granby on July 21, 1927 to Eric and Greta (Peterson) Anderson.
She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, as well as the church's quilting group.
She was a woman of many talents and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a wonderful homemaker. She crocheted, embroidered, she knitted, she stitched and bitched. She was also a gifted poet.
She is survived by her children, Wayne (Mari) Jacob, Judith (Delbert) Robertson, Sharon (Michael) Manglicmot, Craig Jacob, Sandra (William) McCabe, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her six siblings George Aderstedt, Amy Bjorn, Elvira Sivertsen, Morgan Anderson, Eric Anderson and Greta Krischus.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 12, at 10:30am at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 15 Pearl Street, Mystic. Burial will follow in the St. Mark's Memorial Garden.
The family requests no flowers and that donations be made to St. Mark's Church.
