Margaret Crosby Richmond St. Pierre passed away peacefully with her children by her side at
home in Taunton, MA on January 5, 2023 from complications of the flu.
She was born in 1933 in Dighton to Harold and Adeline Richmond. She was predeceased by
her husband, Alfred St. Pierre, her sister in law, Jeanne St. Pierre and brother in law, Vini St.
Pierre and her cousins, Natalie (Sylvia) Brewer, Dorothy and Kathleen Sylvia.
She graduated from Boston University School of Design and subsequently worked at Herman
Miller in Boston. She married Alfred St. Pierre of Taunton in 1963. They had 2 children, Jeffrey
and Raissa and settled in Berkley. Together they enjoyed traveling, making trips to East Africa,
Turkey, Greece, Brasil, Mexico and camping with the family in Utah, Wyoming and Idaho. They
shared a deep love and appreciation for Jazz, listening to quite an impressive collection of
recordings and going out to see live music.
She also worked at the Boston Museum of Science, in the education and outreach for young
students in the community. She studied Anthropology at Wheaton College in Norton. Another
venture was a Native American shop, The Black Crow, in Providence, Rhode Island, where she
shared a space with her dear friend Joan Richie of The Peaceable Kingdom. Peggy was
blessed with so many wonderful friends in her life. She spent many afternoons at Horseneck
and Gooseneck beach in Westport with her lifelong friend and neighbor, Amy Cabral.
She was an avid reader, evidenced by the amount of books on her shelves. She worked with
the Council on Aging in Berkeley and loved spending time with family and friends!
One of her last wishes was, whenever you are near a body of water and can find a rock or
stone, to throw it in and think of her.
