Daniel T. Adams, age 78, of Brockton, died peacefully on January 5, 2023 at Brockton Hospital. Dan was the loving husband of the late Jean M. (Sullivan) Adams. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Mildred (DeMarsh) Adams.
Dan was a 1962 graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School, received his Master’s Degree from Boston College and his Doctorate from the University of Maryland. For over 30 years, he was a math teacher and then Math Department Head at Brockton High School, retiring in 2004.
Dan was an avid reader who also enjoyed classic movies, television and listening to old time radio. He played the guitar and banjo. Dan also spent his free time solving math problems, crosswords and puzzles of all types. Most of all Dan enjoyed spending time with family and friends, treasuring his role as a grandparent.
Dan is survived by his children Christopher Adams and his wife Cheryl of Cranston, RI, Marie Sloan and her husband Ron Goodman of Sharon and Rosemary Finn and her husband Eric of Easton. He was the grandfather of Christian and Charles Adams, Jake Sloan, Tyler Goodman and Jaclyn and Jamie Finn.
In addition, he was the brother of James Adams of Fort Worth, Texas, Kathleen Adams of Bridgewater and the late John Adams of West Bridgewater. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday January 12th from 4-7pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Friday January 13th at 10am, followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
