Katie Wheeler Moon, 41, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Wednesday, January 4, 2023 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Monday, January 9, 2023 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Turner County, Georgia, with the Rev. Mark Spence officiating.
Katie was born July 12, 1981 in Tifton, Georgia, to Larry and Carene Wheeler. She was a 1999 graduate of Tiftarea Academy where she played basketball, softball, and tennis for the Lady Panthers. She attended ABAC on a tennis scholarship and enjoyed playing the piano. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Tift County.
She was a very dedicated mother to her children, Layla Grace Moon and Ryder Banks Moon. She is also survived by her parents, Larry and Carene Wheeler of Irwinville; her sisters: Christy Wheeler of Fitzgerald, Mandy Bostick (Michael) of Tifton, and Shelly McLean (Chuck) of Douglas; as well as several nieces and nephews.
