Alfred G. "Al" Snow, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, January 5th, 2023 at the Mt. Auburn Hospital. He was 85 years of age.
Al was born in Winthrop on November 21st, 1937, the son of the late Alfred J. Snow and Evelyn (Bonin) Snow. He grew up in Charlestown and was educated at St. Benedicts in Somerville and graduated from English High School. Al worked as a diesel mechanic for most of his adult life after serving his country in the United States Air Force. Al enjoyed working on the family heritage, even visiting where his family was from in Canada.
Al is the beloved husband of the late Joan G. (Kelley) Snow.
Al is survived by his two sisters, Christine (Snow) Mullaney and Joan (Snow) Wagner. His predeceased by his siblings, Teresa (Snow) Stiles, Ann Marilyn (Snow) Rogers, William Snow, Jane (Snow) Taglilatela, and Franklin Snow.
He is survived by his first wife, Ellen Snow. He was a loving and caring father of Evelyn Snow, Alfred Snow Jr. and his wife Elizabeth, Gregory Snow and his wife Kelley, Denise Brown and her husband David, James Snow and his longtime companion Ashley. He leaves behind four grandchildren, Kristina Brown, Michael Snow, Megan Brown, and Isabelle Snow. He also leaves behind one great grandson, Mateo Villamarin. Al is also survived by his five stepchildren and their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Al’s Funeral on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. His visiting hours will be on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
