Helen (Burns) Laybold, 94, of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023, at St. Theresa Nursing and Rehabilitation in Manchester. She was the beloved widow of the late William Laybold who died in 1977.
A daughter of the late Walter and the late Helen (Shields) Burns, she was born July 13, 1928, in Medford, and was raised and educated on the North Shore, graduating from Lynn English High School.
Helen made her home in the Lowell area before moving to New Hampshire. After the death of her husband, William, she started working at WCAP where she was the receptionist for three years. She then worked for Lowell Cable Company as a customer service representative until her retirement in 1993.
A loving mother and grandmother, Helen was also an avid quilter, gifting family and friends with her beautiful works of art. She also liked playing cards and traveling throughout Europe and Egypt. Among her many travels, her favorite place to visit was the Greek Isle of Capri.
Her survivors include her son, William C. Laybold of Dracut, and her daughter, Amy McDonnell and her husband, Richard, of North Port, FL; her seven grandchildren, David Moulton of Rumney, NH, Kathleen Parrington and her husband Jeff of Dracut, Danielle Laybold of Lowell, Samantha Eaton and her husband Andrew of Melrose, Michael Laybold of Austin, TX, Michael McDonnell and his wife Angela, of Tuftonboro, NH, and Lauren Alobiedy and her husband Salaam, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; her sister Pauline Ghais and her husband, Ahmad, of Arvada, Colorado; as well as several nieces and nephews and friends she made throughout her lifetime.
She was also the mother of the late Kathleen Moulton and mother in law of the late Dennis Moulton, sister of the late Barbara Myers, and Gray Murphy, and longtime companion Maurice Cohen who passed away in June 2020.

Her Funeral Service will take place at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
